The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has said pork must be eligible for price stabilisation due to the high demand for this essential good on the domestic market.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on March 20 stressed the need to regulate price of pork by the market price with certain management, and to prevent speculation and unreasonable price hiking in this sector.
The national pork output in 2019 stood at 3.3 million tons, 13.8 percent lower than that in 2018. The short supply affected the price and pushed the common CPI to rise by 0.83 percent.
