Provinces in the Mekong Delta have stepped up preventive measures to reduce the risk of outbreaks after an increase in the number of dengue fever cases in various parts of the region.

The Ministry of Health has urged localities across the country to step up efforts to prevent the spread of dengue fever, which is at the peak season.

The People’s Committees at districts, wards and communes must mobilise all resources and take drastic measures to prevent dengue fever, said Director of the municipal Department of Health Nguyen Tan Binh.

Authorities of the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho have asked the local health sector and relevant agencies to work to prevent the spread of dengue fever in the locality.
