Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the public security sector’s first conference on digital transformation in Hanoi on October 10.

The 2019 Vietnam’s Dedicated Defence and Security Exhibition and Conference (DSE Vietnam 2019) will be held for the first time in Hanoi from October 2 to 4 with the participation of some 200 exhibitors from at home and abroad.

Two former officers of the public security sector involved in the case of acquiring public properties and land in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City had their jail sentences reduced at an appeal trial in Hanoi on June 13.

Human trafficking and child abuse have recently occurred with new tricks and methods and competent agencies have accelerated the crackdown on the crimes.

Police officers will be mobilised to patrol at general and specialised hospitals at national, city/provincial and town/district levels to ensure security and order.

The public security sector must carry forward its core role in maintaining national security and social order and safety in any situation, said Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong.

Before becoming the President in April 2016, General Tran Dai Quang had worked in the public security sector for years and served as Minister of Public Security from 2011 to 2016.

The Ministry of Public Security held a conference in Hanoi on January 15 in the presence of General Secretary of the Communist Party Nguyen Phu Trong to review performance of the sector in 2017 and outline tasks for 2018.
