The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour revealed options for the regional minimum wage increase in 2020 ahead of the second round of negotiations,which is set to take place in Hanoi on July 11.

The National Wage Council convened its first meeting of the year in Hanoi on July 9, discussing the regional minimum wage increase for next year.

The National Salary Council failed to decide on a regional minimum wage hike in 2017 at a meeting in the northern port city of Hai Phong on July 20.

A meeting of the National Salary Council on August 5 failed to reach agreement on increasing the regional minimum wage in 2016 and the council is scheduled to meet again in the next two weeks.
