Vietnam saw a decline in road accidents in the first half of 2019 while the number of prolonged traffic congestions was on a rise, according to the latest report of the National Committee for Road Safety.
Vietnam aims to cut the number of traffic accidents and deaths by 5-10 percent every year and lower the number of severe crashes related to coaches and motorbikes between 2016 and 2020.
The number of traffic accidents in the first four months of 2016 fell by 12.6 percent year on year to about 6,620 accidents, according to the National Traffic Safety Committee.
