The Mekong Delta has great advantages to develop the renewable energy sector, including wind, solar, biomass and gas thermal power, according to experts.

Almost 5,500 rooftop solar projects with a combined design capacity of 580.5 MWp have been developed in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, according a representative from Vietnam Electricity (EVN)’s Central Power Corporation.

Phu Khanh Solar Power JSC and competent agencies of the central province of Phu Yen held a ceremony in Xuan Tho 1 commune, Song Cau district on January 8 to begin the construction of Xuan Tho 1 and Xuan Tho 2 solar power plants.

More than 270 businesses and households in Ho Chi Minh City have installed solar power panels on roofs with a total capacity of about 3,600KWp, according to the HCM City Power Corp under Electricity of Vietnam.
