An official has advised businesses to adopt green practices to secure sustainable growth in textile and garment export to Canada, where Vietnam ranks second among the exporters of such products.
Textile and garment export turnover in the first six months of 2022 is estimated to increase 23% on-year to about 22 billion USD, reaching the highest level ever, according to the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association.
The total textile and garment export value in the first four months of this year dropped by 6.6 percent year-on-year to 10.64 billion USD, according to the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas).
Vietnam has made it onto the list of the world’s five biggest textile exporters and producers, with textile and garment export turnover hitting 16 billion USD in the first half of 2018, up more than 14 percent year-on-year.
Vietnam’s textile and garment exports to the US reached approximately 3.14 billion USD in the first quarter of this year, marking a year on year increase of 13.2 percent.
