As many as 14 companies were suspended from sending labourers to Taiwan, for 45–60 days since February 20, by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs' Department of Overseas Labour.

The suspension came after these companies collected brokerage fees higher than the permitted amount and deducted a higher deposit from labourers' wages than regulated.

The companies include the Vietnam General Import–Export and Technological Transfer Joint Stock Company (Vinagimex) and the Vietnam Trading Engineering Construction Joint Stock Corporation (Vietracimex). -VNA
