Hanoi (VNA) - The Live and Learn for Environment and Community (Live and Learn Vietnam) organized an online talkshow “When young people do green economy” on December 26, as part of the “Green Generation Youth Action for Climate and Sustainable Energy” project sponsored by the Danish Embassy in Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Thi Thanh Thu, an agriculture expert, and a member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Digital Agriculture Association said that at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) held in Glasgow in October, Vietnam committed to net zero emissions by 2050.

This commitment has impressed international friends but will be a big challenge for Vietnam. In that context, the seminar was organised to introduce environmentally-friendly economic models, helping ensure the sustainable development among young people - the group that accounts for about 70 percent of the population.

At the seminar, speakers also introduced projects on developing green (organic) agricultural models, and proposed directions for sustainable development of the green economy such as applying agricultural knowledge and appropriate technology to production to supply the domestic market and export trends; consumer education to change people's awareness, and replicating effective models./.
