Tanzania wishes to further intensify its friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam.

Tanzanian officials expressed the desire in meetings with Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Phuong Nga, who paid a working visit to the country from May 16-19.

During the meeting with Deputy FM Nga, Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete praised Vietnam’s achievements in its national construction and development, saying that these are valuable lessons for his country to follow in the future.

Tanzanian officials also affirmed that their country strongly supports and will continue cooperating closely with Vietnam in the international arena.

For her part, Nga informed the hosts of Vietnam’s socio-economic development successes as well as her foreign policy, stressing that Vietnam always attaches special importance to strengthening the relations with Tanzania.

The hosts and guest also discussed measures to boost bilateral ties in the coming time, especially in trade, investment, agriculture, telecommunications, maritime transport, human resources training and tourism.

They also agreed to bolster links between the two countries’ ministries of foreign affairs, while underlining the need to enhance exchanges of visits at all levels.-VNA
