The provincial leaders and military officials offered flowers and incense to the fallen soldiers during a memorial service to commemorate their sacrifices for the nation and the great international mission.

In his remarks at the event, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Ngoc said millions of Vietnamese soldiers have bravely sacrificed their lives for the national independence and reunification and for the friendship and solidarity with Cambodia and Laos while thousands other have been wounded for these causes.

Over the years, Tay Ninh has worked with the Cambodian side to search and repatriate thousands of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers in Cambodia, he added.

The Song Da 9 JSC built a grave for them for worshipping in July, 2009 before they were brought to rest at the Sa Thay district martyr cemetery.
