The Vietnam Technological Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank) has decided to choose VeriSign Inc. – the trusted provider of Internet infrastructure services for the networked world--as its partner to provide security for the bank’s websites.

Accordingly, VeriSign Inc. will provide Extended Validation SSL (EV SSL) Certificates for protection against Internet threats as more customers adopt Internet banking in Vietnam .

The cooperation will ensure that Techcombank will have the highest levels of security available to encourage users to sign up, build confidence in their system, and safeguard the bank’s customers from any potential online threats, said Vice General Director Le Xuan Vu, who is also Director of Techcombank’s IT Centre.

Techcombank has given top priority to development investment and high-tech applications in banking transactions. Since 2001, the bank has cooperated with Temenos Holding NV – a world-leading banking software provider--to implement software systems for the bank’s network, to meet customer demand.

Additionally, Techcombank signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Hong Kong-Shanghai Bank Corp. to take advantage of capital and technology as well as tap their management and business experience.

Established in 1993, Techcombank has set up its transaction networks in 35 provinces and cities nationwide, providing diversified services based on high technology, such as products on securities account management, F@st S-Bank, and the payment portal F@stVietPay.
