Teen star swimmer Anh Vien to make a splash in US

Following her success at the recent 27th SEA Games in Myanmar, Vietnamese star swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien is scheduled to attend an intensive training course in the US in January in preparation for next year’s games.

High hopes are pinned on the16-year-old female swimmer that she will achieve even better results atthe 17th Asian Games, scheduled for Incheon, the Republic of Korea, in2014.

Vien is currently serving the Vietnam’s PeopleArmy. Her outstanding performance at the SEA Games has earned herrespect and admiration from fellow competitors from Indonesia andSingapore.

She is hopeful to reach the top three inthe women’s backstroke 200m event at the coming Asian Games, said coachDang Anh Tuan.

At the 27th SEA Games, the swimmerset a new mark in Vietnam's swimming history by becoming the first-everVietnamese to win three gold medals, two silvers and one bronze, in onesingles Games in its 54-year history of the country's competing in theGames.

Vien polished her outstanding achievements by breakingtwo SEA Games records in the women’s 200m backstroke and 400m medleyevents, with respective time of 2:14.80 and 4:46.16.-VNA

Project on digital transformation in cultural sector approved

By 2030, the project targets the establishment of shared digital platforms across 100% of cultural sectors. All digitised cultural heritage will be standardised under the national data framework and shared in accordance with regulations, while 80% of public digital heritage assets are expected to receive digital identifiers to clarify ownership and management, encouraging organisations and individuals to do the same and support market development.
