Ten people were killed and 23 injured when a truck crashed into two coaches in central Binh Thuan Province early Nov. 7.

Eight of the casualties died on site while two others died on route to hospital where the injured have been receiving treatment.

The accident occurred when the truck, underway from central Khanh Hoa province to HCM City, collided with a Hoang Long Company coach travelling in the opposite direction before crashing into a Tien Bo Company bus from northern Thai Binh province.

Both the truck and the Tien Bo bus caught fire while a stray cargo container disrupted traffic.

DNA tests have been employed to identify victims deformed in the blaze while families are being notified.

According to provincial People's Committee Chairman Le Tien Phuong, families of the deceased will be provided financial assistance of 5 million VND(250 USD) each.

A sum of 3 miilion VND (150 USD) and 2.5 million VND(125 USD) would be given to passengers with severe and slight injures, respectively, with seven other survivors already having received 1 million VND (50 USD) in assistance.
