President of the Thai National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) Phanthep Klanarongran and his entourage made a fact-finding tour to central Thua Thien-Hue province on August 7.
The Thai guests shared experience in the enactment of asset and income declarations for cadres and public servants, the mobilisation of young people in the fight against corruption and the opening of local inspection offices as corruption preventive measures.
Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ngo Hoa highly valued the sharing of the Thai side, particularly the work to involve the youth in the corruption fight.
As the corruption fight has been defined a key political task, Thua Thien-Hue and other localities have paid due attention to improving the capacity of consulting agencies in corruption prevention and control, he told the guests.
The two sides agreed to work closely in combating and preventing corruption, contributing to realising the cooperation agreement in the field reached by the two countries.
The fact-finding tour was part of the NACC’s working visit to Vietnam, which aims to learn about Vietnam’s experience in organising inspection agencies at localities, as well as strengthening the two countries’ ties.-VNA
