The Thai Army Chief has affirmed that there will be no coup d’etat no matter what the outcome of the December 9 protests will be.

Army Chief Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha made his firm stance that there will not be a coup d’etat by the military and urged all parties to find a peaceful resolution to the current political deadlock facing the nation.

He added that staging another military coup will not solve anything but further tarnish Thailand ’s image in the international community.

The same day, the Criminal Court turned down the police's request to approve arrest warrant against 13 People's Democratic Reform Committee's leaders for treason.

The court explained that the political situation will improve following Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawtra’s decision to dissolve the House of Representatives.-VNA
