Huynh Thi Yen Nhi from Vietnam and Benedicta Heda Mercy Charis from Indonesia were the first and second runners-up respectively.
These titles were announced at the beauty contest’s gala night on July 1, which gathered 27 candidates representing eight ASEAN member states – Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore and host Vietnam.
The Miss Friendship of ASEAN 2017 took place in the south central province of Phu Yen from June 15 to July 1 to seek a face representing the spirit of solidarity and friendship among the bloc members.
It was also part of activities to mark the 50th ASEAN founding anniversary (August 8, 1967-2017).-VNA
