Thai Binh strives for no temporary, dilapidated houses by next September

The northern province of Thai Binh on November 28 launched an emulation campaign “300 days of joint efforts to do away with temporary and dilapidated houses”.

Thai Binh (VNA) - The northern province of Thai Binh on November 28 launched an emulation campaign “300 days of joint efforts to do away with temporary and dilapidated houses”.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Khac Than said that this is an important event with profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the determination of the local Party organisation, authorities, and people to improve living conditions and ensure social welfare for all citizens, with no one left behind.

The campaign aims to complete the eradication of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households in the province by September 2025, contributing to the joint efforts towards sustainable poverty reduction.

At the event, the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee received over 45 billion VND (1.77 million USD) from units, businesses, and localities inside and outside the province in support of the campaign.

At present, Thai Binh has 2,106 poor and near-poor households that need assistance to build or renovate their homes. Of the total, 1,164 need new houses.

The province has decided to provide financial support of 100 million VND per household for new construction and 50 million VND for repairs./.
