Bangkok (NNT/VNA) – Thailand’s Cabinet has allocated 6.78 billion baht for the hosting of two International Horticultural Expos in Udon Thani and Nakhon Ratchasima provinces.

The first festival will take place in Udon Thani province. It will span 250,000 square metres and will be visited by 3.6 million people from more than 10 countries.

The government has set aside 2.5 billion baht for this event. The festival will go on for 134 days, from November 1, 2026 to 14 March 2027. Bidding for the organising of this festival is scheduled for January 7.

The second festival, which will be a much larger event, will span 500,000 square metres. Nakhon Ratchasima province will place its bid in March. The festival will go on for 110 days, from November 10, 2029 to February 28, 2030.

Thailand is among 65 member organisations of the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), an organization that officially approves and regulates International Horticultural Expos. Thailand hosted AIPH-recognised International Horticultural Expos twice before in Chiang Mai, in 2006 and 2011./.
