Thai Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn will pilot a charity flight to the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat on December 21, 2013 to raise fund for an educational foundation under the royal patronage.

Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office Lieutenant Sunisa Lertpakhawat announced at a press conference after the weekly Cabinet meeting on November 12 that the Government will play host to the royal charity flight as the first pilot.

The flight will depart from Bangkok on December 21, 2013 to Nakhon Si Thammarat province, where the Crown Prince will attend a merit making ceremony at Wat Phra Maha Thart Monastery.

Tickets for the flight will cost 500,000 THB per seat and are expected to raise a total of 50 million THB. The Government has set up a steering committee to ensure smooth arrangement of the charity flight.

A royal permission will be requested for the production of special pins bearing the Crown Prince’s initials, to be distributed to the 100 supporters of the charity flight.-VNA
