Thai gov’t may dissolve House of Representatives

According to Thai acting government spokesperson Panithan Wattanayakorn, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva had directed security officials to ensure that demonstrators are disabled to cause any more violent clashes.
At a press briefing the same day, he also confirmed that security forces did not fire live rounds at red-shirt protesters during the operation to clear the red-shirt rally base.
"There were no live rounds fired at protesters," Mr Panithan said on national television.
"Weapons were used only in self-defence and to fire into the air," he said.
Also on April 11, a group of the anti-government “red-shirt” broke into the yard of Thaicom satellite firm in the central province of Pathum Thani next to capital Bangkok to ensure that the signal transmission of their TV channel, People’s Channel (PTV), will not be blocked again.
Some 20 people lost their lives and over 800 others were injured during April 10 clashes between the “red-shirts” and security personnel, according to the Bangkok Emergency Medical Service Centre./.
