The interim Cabinet of Thailand, led by Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha, was sworn in before King Bhumibol Adulyadej in Bangkok on September 4.
Speaking at the ceremony at Siriraj Hospital , where the king is currently staying, Prayuth pledged allegiance to the country and affirmed that his Cabinet will try its best to ensure progress and stability in the country.
Earlier on August 31, the Thai King endorsed PM Prayuh’s interim Cabinet with 32 members, 11 of them are military and police generals and former generals.
As scheduled, the new Cabinet will convene its first meeting on September 9, before it delivers the policy statement to the National Legislative Assembly, the provisional legislature.
The Cabinet is expected to administer the country for around a year before a general election is held in the latter half of next year or early 2016.-VNA
