Ratchanok, or “Nong May”, defeated Li 22-20 in the first game but lost 18-21 in the next. She then recovered and won the final game 21-14, making history as Thailand ’s first ever player to win the world badminton championships. She made China ’s women’s singles championship record stop at eight.
Nong May, 18, is also the youngest badminton player who won a world championship title.-VNA
