Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha proposed a three-sided meeting with Myanmar and Malaysia to seek solutions for human trafficking in the region on May 8.

The suggestion was put forward after Thai police found 30 corpses believed to be migrants from Myanmar and Bangladesh in a location in the province of Songkhla bordering Malaysia last week

The Thai PM told the press that the meeting could take place at the end of this month.

Myanmar and Malaysia have not yet replied to the proposal.

Thai authorities said Songkhla is a regular migrant route of members of the Rohingya ethnic minority and Bangladeshis to third countries, mainly Malaysia.-VNA
