Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will take part in the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit (AJCS) scheduled for December 13-15 in Tokyo.
The PM affirmed the plan during her meeting with visiting members of the Advisory Committee on Cultural Exchanges in Asia to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, at the Government House.
She said she supported the idea of cultural exchanges to strengthen bilateral relations, while expressing her willingness to support the work of the Advisory Committee on Cultural Exchanges in drafting a new Japanese cultural policy framework towards ASEAN in line with the Abe administration’s new Asia policy.
Both sides also agreed to celebrate the 40-year relationship between Japan and ASEAN, which will provide a good opportunity for Japan and the regional grouping to upgrade their cooperation in every dimension.-VNA
