A delegation from Thailand’s province of Trat led by its Governor Anpruang Benjawan paid a working visit to the southern province of Long An on July 22 to further boost ties with the Vietnamese locality.

At the reception for the Thai delegation, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Do Huu Lam briefed the guests on his province’s socio-economic situation.

Long An has 464 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total investment capital of 3 billion USD, Lam noted.

Of the projects, Thailand contributes 19, totalling 219 million USD in capital. Based in the province’s key economic zones, they specialise in canned foods, fruit and cattle feed, he added.

For her part, Benjawan said her province and Long An have several similar strengths in tourism and fisheries. She wants both provinces to enhance mutual cooperation like what Trat is doing with the southern province of Kien Giang.

On the same day, the guests visited some Thai enterprises investing in Long An’s Ben Luc district.-VNA
