Cao Tri Dung, director of Vitours Da Nang, said the number of Thai tourists his company served fell by half, the same situation facing other travel agencies in central Vietnam .

Every year the central region receives some 200,000 visitors from Thailand and Laos coming by road through the Nam Can, Cau Treo, and Lao Bao border gates.

To attract Thai visitors, travel agencies have cut the prices for a one-day package from 50 USD per person to 35-45 USD./.
