Thailand expects to receive more than 164 million domestic and foreign tourists next year, generating a record-breaking 2 trillion THB (about 65 billion USD) in revenue, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

In its Marketing Action Plan for 2014, TAT said it has set a target of 28.01 million international tourist arrivals in the year, with an estimated foreign exchange revenue of 1.326 trillion THB (43 billion USD), up 13 percent over 2013.

For the domestic market, the goal was set at 136.8 million trips, generating estimated 700 billion THB (22 billion USD), up 9 percent from this year.

Thailand’s marketing strategies in the future will focus on raising awareness of Thailand as a “Quality Destination” with a broad diversity of experiences, and balancing the source markets.-VNA
