The Thai Ministry of Commerce is planning to boost international trade and investments in the country within three months, a move that is said to pave the way for the smooth transition into the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) next year.

Commerce Minister Chatchai Sarikalya said that following the government’s policy, the plan focuses on removing trade obstacles by amending related laws and maintaining commodity prices. It will also be considered a present at the year’s end for Thai consumers.

The ministry is currently drafting a stimulus plan for the export sector. Heads of the commercial affairs offices at Thai embassies across the globe will be invited to a meeting from October 18-20 to share their views on the market demand in their respective countries.-VNA
