Thailand and China have agreed to further consolidate their bilateral military ties in the future.

The agreement was reached by Thai Prime Minister and Defence Minister Yinluck Shinawatra and Senior Lieutenant General Fan Changlong, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Central Military Commission during their talks in Bangkok on July 24.

Yingluck said Thailand and China have set up friendly cooperation and their armed forces have gained considerable achievements in their cooperation in various fields.

She stated that the Thai government and army highly value ties with China and are willing to step up bilateral exchanges and cooperation in the time to come.

Thailand is the first leg of Fan’s first overseas visit since he came into office as Vice Chairman of the Chinese Central Military Commission in March this year. He will also tour Kazakhstan and Myanmar.-VNA
