The Thai Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has decided not to indict former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra on terrorism charges in connection with the 2010 political demonstration in Bangkok.

Attorney General Attapol Yaisawang on October 10 said the decision was made at the proposal of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI).

The former PM was suspected of colluding with 23 key leaders of the Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) or “red-shirts” to provoke riots during PM Abhisit Vejjajiva’s rule.

It was also claimed that he used video conferencing and social networks to incite riots in the country.
However, the case was dropped by Thai prosecutors due to weak evidence, said Attapol.-VNA
