The Tourism Administration of Thailand (TAT) is working on new tourist programmes to realize its plan of receiving 1 million Vietnamese tourists in the 2010-2015 period.
The new products will include a sightseeing tour combined with medicinal treatment, tours to orchards where visitors can enjoy fresh fruit, and tours to explore Cham culture, the TAT said at its meeting with Vietnamese travel companies in Hanoi on April 9.
To promote the plan, which was approved by the two Governments, the TAT said it will also continue with the “Amazing Thailand” programme.
Tourism agencies reported that over recent years, 360,000 Vietnamese tourists have visited Thailand each year while just over 100,000 Thais each year have spent their holidays in Vietnam./.
