Bangkok (VNA) – A crane collapse at a construction site outside Thailand's capital on November 29 resulted in three worker fatalities and injuries to 10 others.
According to Detchanakorn Chanthaphum from Samut Sakhon Provincial Police, the incident occurred early in the morning while workers were constructing a flyover. The crane unexpectedly collapsed, killing three on the spot and injuring 10, several critically.
Police and engineers are investigating the cause, with initial suspicions pointing to overloading of the crane's beam.
Construction accidents occasionally occur in Thailand, often due to contractors neglecting safety regulations or operating without proper permits. In March, a similar crane collapse at a factory in eastern Bangkok claimed seven lives./.
