Thai Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul on Oct. 18 handed overthe money to the Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Ngo Duc Thang inBangkok .
Ambassador Thang expressed thanks to theThai Government and people and offered his sympathy towards many Thaiswho are also affected by the worse floods in Thailand in decades.
According to the National Steering Committee for Floods and StormControl, floods have claimed 48 lives in the Mekong delta andinundated more than 80,000 houses and 21,000 hectares of rice. Thecentral region is also suffering from rising floods which have killedseven people and caused four people to go missing so far.
Also on Oct. 18, the Thai Government presented 3 million Thai bahts toCambodia to help the nation overcome the consequences of thefloods./.
