The Thai Government has presented 3 million Thai bahts to support flood victims in Vietnam.
Thai Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul on Oct. 18 handed over the money to the Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Ngo Duc Thang in Bangkok .
Ambassador Thang expressed thanks to the Thai Government and people and offered his sympathy towards many Thais who are also affected by the worse floods in Thailand in decades.
According to the National Steering Committee for Floods and Storm Control, floods have claimed 48 lives in the Mekong delta and inundated more than 80,000 houses and 21,000 hectares of rice. The central region is also suffering from rising floods which have killed seven people and caused four people to go missing so far.
Also on Oct. 18, the Thai Government presented 3 million Thai bahts to Cambodia to help the nation overcome the consequences of the floods./.
