The agreements, signed during Thai Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubumrung’s visit to Malaysia , will help curb human and drug trafficking crimes, accelerate the exchange of prisoners and facilitate the border residents’ travel.
Chalerm told Thai media that Malaysia pledged to support Thailand in restoring peace in its southern region, especially in Pattini, Narathiwat and Songkhla provinces.
Since 2004, 11,000 attacks in the region have left over 5,000 dead and 9,000 injured.-VNA
