Martial law in Thailand will remain for the foreseeable future due to critical security reasons, said Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam on January 29.

The Deputy PM asserted the government has the situation under control and martial law will only have minimal effects on the people.

He also stressed that martial law does not reflect an internal crisis and that the international community understands the necessitated method.
