Bangkok (VNA) – Some 300 business leaders from China are meeting their Thai counterparts at the Thailand-China Business Forum 2018 held on the sidelines of the 6th meeting of the Joint Committee on Trade, Investment and Economic Cooperation between the two countries in Bangkok from August 23-24.

A delegation of 40 chief executives of leading Chinese corporations are scheduled for a fact-finding tour on August 25 to seek investment opportunities in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), which consists of Chonburi, Rayong and Chachoengsao provinces.

The Thai side hopes Chinese investors will inject capital into the zone.

The Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) plans to introduce preferential policies to attract foreign investment to the EEC and other zones.

Earlier, Thai Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak said investors from Japan and China will visit Thailand in August and October to seek investment opportunities. Many of them are operating in technology and innovation sectors.-VNA
