Thailand ranked second among ASEAN countries in the 2014 United Nations Human Development Index (HDI) in terms of the best quality of life.

HDI, built by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is an indicator that ranks human development based on life expectancy, educational level, and income. The latest report marks the first time the index has been surveyed in the ASEAN region.

Singapore topped the region in the quality of life, followed by Thailand . Cambodia , meanwhile, came last in the rankings.-VNA
