Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The Asian Peace and Reconciliation Council (APRC) has hosted a discussion on using social media creatively via public participation.

The forum, entitled International Cyberspace: The New Frontier of Peace and Cooperation, served as a platform to exchange ideas and knowledge from various former world leaders who have managed and developed national policies related to cyberspace.

The organisers hope that the event will kick start cooperation and foster unity and peace in the cyber world internationally. They also wish to set a direction in telecommunications technology policies by brainstorming experts in the field, representatives of the private sector, academics and members of the public.

Participants discussed the dynamics between telecommunications and technology and the importance of ensuring that the changes made between the two elements are well within the boundary of rules, laws and culture of each nation. – NNT/VNA
