A workshop to promote cooperation in investment and trade between Vietnamese and Thai enterprises was held in Ho Chi Minh City on June 30.

The event was jointly organised by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ho Chi Minh City (VCCI-HCM) and the Department of Industrial Promotion under the Thai Ministry of Industry.

Participating in the workshop were enterprises operating in plastics, equipment and spare parts, automobile and motorbike, hotel, home decoration, foods and consumer goods.

Thailand-Vietnam trade ties have been developing sustainably with two-way trade last year reaching around 7.5 billion USD.

According to Thai enterprises, Vietnam has enormous economic potential, thus they plan to continue to invest in the country in the coming time.

At present, there are 250 investment projects of Thailand worth 5.8 billion USD in Vietnam. Many big groups of Thailand are promoting and expanding their business in Vietnam such as Tipco, Amata, Siam Cement. Thai goods are also popular in the country./.
