Hanoi (VNA) - Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha announced on October 10 that the country will hold its general election in November 2018.

This is the most precise date the Thai PM has given yet for the vote since he took power in 2014.

He told reporters at the Government House that the exact election date would be announced in June 2018.

The Thai administration has repeatedly delayed the election, citing concerns such as changes to the constitution and security issues.

On May 23, PM Chan-ocha warned that the country’s general election could not be held if there were no peace and order.

The statement was made one day after a bomb hit a military hospital in the centre of the capital city of Bangkok, injuring dozens of people.-VNA
