The National Legislative Assembly (NLA) of Thailand will present the country’s economic and social development model following the sufficiency economy philosophy at an Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.
NLA First Vice President Surachai Liengbunlerdchai said his attendance the IPU meeting, scheduled for October 15-23, will affirm Thailand’s commitments to the world’s burning issues, including the refugee crisis.
As the meeting will focus on how to effectively and ethically cope with the widespread refugee crisis in Europe and Asia, he said he will present Thailand’s input on the matter and affirm a fair treatment of refugees passing through the country.
In addition, the meeting will offer him a chance to exchange knowledge and expertise that will help elevate Thailand’s parliamentary system to meet international standards, he added.-VNA
