Bangkok (NNT/VNA) – The Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Dr. Yuthasak Supasorn, has received the Go Asia Award in the Best Destination Asia category from Go Asia at the International Tourismus Borse (ITB) 2019, that took place at Messe Berlin in Berlin, Germany.

Go Asia (www.goasia.de) is a business-to-business (B2B) platform for the travel and tourism industry, with voting by sales representatives, tour agencies, and 3,000 tourists.

In 2018, Thailand recorded 877,000 visitors from Germany, up by about 4.7 percent from 2017. Switzerland and Austria are also two of the most important markets in Europe for Thailand.

The Director of TAT’s Frankfurt Office, Denduan Luangcheng, said the TAT has penetrated the second-tier markets and introduced interesting tourist destinations in Thailand.
