The Thai Ministry of Education is collaborating with Singapore to adjust the curricula at vocational education institutes to better fit the demand of employers.

Education Minister Chaturon Chaisaeng earlier met with Indranee Rajah, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Law and Ministry of Education of Singapore to further bilateral knowledge exchange in education.

According to Chaturon, collaboration in vocational education and use of IT in education will be two matters that are urgently pursued. His meeting with the Singaporean education executives yielded the conclusion that the Ministry of Education needs to seek input from the private sector to improve the curricula at vocational institutes. The demands of the private sector will be used as the basis for curricula development, training, and evaluation.

Thailand will also be using Singapore's model as a basis in curricula adjustment, and Singapore will be providing teachers to help train Thai instructors at selected institutes where the new curricula will be piloted.-VNA
