Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The Federation of Thai Capital Market Organisations (FETCO) disclosed that the Investor Confidence Index (ICI) surveyed for the months of April, May and June fell 18 percent due to fears over fluctuations in capital flows.

FETCO President Worawan Tharapoom revealed that the ICI for these months decreased by 18 percent due to several reasons, attributing the decline to investors’ concerns over capital flow fluctuations, the US interest rate policy, and the decision by the Stock Exchange of Thailand to post XD symbols on certain stocks wherein shareholders will not receive their dividends.

Banking and infrastructure sectors will remain attractive to investors during this period as they are still benefiting from both public and private spendings while the energy and health care sectors are enjoying the decline in oil prices and higher revenues.

Those involving media, fashion, printing, capital investment are less likely to attract investments because their growth heavily depends on domestic consumption.-VNA
