Thailand’s reform agencies to study electoral process in Germany

The Constitutional Drafting Committee (CDC) has agreed that the voting system based on Germany’s Mixed-Member Proportional (MMP) system representation may be a good model for Thailand’s future elections.
The Constitutional Drafting Committee (CDC) has agreed that the voting system based on Germany’s Mixed-Member Proportional (MMP) system representation may be a good model for Thailand’s future elections.

The German government has therefore invited representatives from Thailand to study the electoral process in Germany from March 15th - 20th.

Thailand has agreed to send representatives from various reform organizations. The CDC delegation includes its President Borwornsak Uwanno, Secretary Kanjanarat Leeviroj, and Spokesperson General Lertrat Rattanawanich.

The Election Commission delegation includes its President Supachai Somcharoen, as well as members Boonsong Noisopon, and Pravich Rattanapian.

The National Reform Council delegation includes its Vice President Tasana Boontong and member Sombat Tamrongtanyawong. Finally, Dr. Parinya Thewanarumit, Deputy Rector of Thammasart University, will also be part of the delegation.-VNA
