As many as 1,000 Thai and Burmese cyclists joined a friendship cycling tour on February 23 morning.
The Thai-Myanmar Friendship Cycling Tour, which started from the district of Maesod in Thailand’s western province of Tak for a ride to Myawaddee province in Myanmar .
The trip was 40 kilometers long. About 300 Myanmar cyclists joined their Thai counterparts at the border. They all peddled through villages to see Burmese daily life and included Huay Sarn village in which some Thai nationals were forced to settle during World War II.
Large numbers of villagers stood on the roadside to see and cheer the cyclists during their trip.-VNA
