After the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday, Than Uyen district restored a host of cultural festivals, such as the Lung Tung (or Going to the field), and folk dance festivals. The events contributed to promoting the cultural identities of local ethnic minority groups while creating a foundation for the development of local tourism.

Utilising strengths in ethnic diversity, natural landscapes, and transport as well as socio-economic conditions, Than Uyen has introduced a number of solutions to preserve and promote its traditional cultural identity. It has expanded the scale of several festivals and helped local households develop accommodation for tourists. It has also successfully restored four traditional folk festivals.

Bestowed by nature, Than Uyen district boasts rich and picturesque landscapes and villages bearing the culture of the Mong, Thai, and Kho Mu ethnic groups, attracting tourists from both home and abroad./.
