The Thang Long Heritage Conservation Centre on August 12 received more than 500 historical documents and objects related to a Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) meeting that played a decisive role in the liberation of the South and national unification.

The items were donated by delegates attending the conference of the Politburo of the CPV Central Committee from December 18, 1974 to January 8, 1975.

The event took place inside the former Thang Long Imperial Citadel’s D67 House and Bunker, which served as the military headquarters of General Vo Nguyen Giap during the war against the US .

Representatives from families of former Party, State and military leaders presented the centre with materials and tools the officials used in their daily working life.

Among them are books and glasses used by Party General Secretary Truong Chinh, clothes, a watch, table clock, CV, bags and Party member card of Chairman of the State Council Vo Chi Cong, as well as maps, glasses and Ho Chi Minh badge belonging to General Giap.

A display of these items will be organised soon to help people understand more about the conference and the values of the D67 House and Bunker, according to the centre.-VNA
