Thanh Hoa fishermen receive latest sea, island information

A briefing held in Sam Son township, the central coastal province of Thanh Hoa, on May 13 updated local fishermen with the latest information about their sea and islands, in order to ensure their safety when they work at sea.

Organised by the Thanh Hoa Border Guard High Commandand the Central Coastal Radio Station, the function updated fishermenfrom Quang Tien ward on the recent East Sea situation, including theviolation of Vietnam’s waters by foreign ships.

The attendees also received an overview on the Tonkin Gulf Demarcation Agreement between Vietnam and China.

Additionally,regulations on the catching of seafood in the sea were provided tothem, together with telephone numbers for search-and-rescue teams incase of emergencies.

At present, more than 170 fishing vessels of Quang Tien ward are operating in joint fishing grounds of Vietnam and China.-VNA

UNFPA, KOICA pledge continued support to Vietnam to eliminate gender-based violence
